Here at 50.8 we had the opportunity to design a modern ground floor extension and manage the complete renovation of this 5 storey Georgian townhouse.
Our main goal was to create more space but also to be sympathetic to the existing building as well as being appropriate to its setting. In this case the home was next door to a listed building and was within the conservation area of Chichester. Daily site visits became the norm to manage every change & detail as we knocked out walls upstairs and downstairs & extended with zinc clad walls & roof and ‘Crittall’ style glass doors.
Like all architects who project manage any build or renovation of their own design, the process allows you to refine where required, manage change and make decisions impacted by those changes quickly and effectively. Our builders, craftspeople & trades all worked tirelessly to enable us to very proudly win a Sussex Heritage Trust Award for this beautiful home.
